Introducing.... SUPER SATURDAYS!!

One of our New Years Resolutions was to spend more quality time with the Monsters. Well, it was more so mine, but he had no choice in the matter. He just comes along for the ride 99% of the time. Don't worry, he enjoys it. ;)

Out of this resolution came my brilliant idea to start Super Saturdays (which started as Friday Fun Days, but that's another story). Our day starts with dinner, than some sort of activity, finally followed by making some sort of dessert/snack.

So here it is... Super Saturday Numero Uno!!

Our first one was kind of thrown together, last minute. I was bored, and decided we needed to do something. Dylan was at his Mom's house for the weekend, so it was just the youngest monsters and us. One day while Stumbling I came across this super cute snake, made out of a tie at Make and takes. She had made hers for a Fathers Day Gift, but I thought it would be perfect for the boys. I had found the ties a few days prior for $2 a piece at the Goodwill. We did alter it a bit and sewed them together instead of using a Hot Glue Gun, but that's about all we changed.

I'm not going to lie. It was kind of a pain in the butt. It wasn't too hard, but it definitely wasn't something that was really easy for a 6 and 2 yr old to do. They ended up bored 2 min into it. David and I ended up making 95% of them. But in the end they turned up super cute! The boys loved them!

I guess I didn't really know what to expect the boys to do with the snakes. Maybe cuddle with them? Anything cute that had crossed my mind disappeared when they proceeded to use them as weapons and beat each other with them. Sigh. I guess that's why I call them my Monsters. Even the dog enjoyed them!

As for snack, like I said, it was last minute. They got gummy candy of some sort from their Christmas Stash. Hey, cut me some slack. I can't be Super Mom all the time. And I guess I didn't take any pictures that the Littlest Monster sat still in, so he looks like a blurry mess, but oh well. You get the idea. Focus on the gummies and my failure.

That was our first Super Saturday! I hope to post each Saturday about what we do. Look forward to it, you know you want to.

  1. Awesome post! Lmao At the part where they beat each other with them. :) I love this cause you make yourself seem so down to earth and normal when we both know what a super mom you are! I can't wait to read next Saturday's post. :D
